About a week ago we witnessed Legendary musician, producer and businessman, Chicco Twala, scold and hand his son, Longwe, over to the police for theft - and now, his mother, Thembi, has opened up.

The Twalas have had the media spotlight shone on them a few times this month, and each time, Longwe Twala has been the common denominator.

The son of well-known producer, Chicco Twala, was recently arrested for theft after his own father handed him over to the Diepkloof police station. Longwe has also hogged the headlines, in the past years, as he was one of the people present at the time of Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa's brutal murder in 2014. One of the many versions of what went down the night the goalie was slain involves an alleged dispute over drugs between Kelly Khumalo and Longwe (who is alleged to have been dealing and using).

While the case has now been handed over to lobby group Afriforum, Longwe's drug using ways are slowly coming to light. Recently, his mother Thembi opened up and asked for prayers for her son - Daily Sun reports.

"I pray for my son and plead to others to do that, the devil is a liar and one day my son will come around.

"I won't turn my back on him, I will continue to pray and ask God to turn him around," she was quoted saying.

Longwe's mother also urged other mothers in a similar predicament to rally around their children and pray for them.

"I appeal to all the mothers whose children are hooked on drugs to pray to God because this is all the devil's work."
