Celebrating this milestone on his Instagram account. The podcaster expressed his gratitude to his fans for making his podcast a success, despite mounting calls that it should be cancelled.

"Wow this is wild. Thanks to all our CHILLERS for making this possible without you we would have been cancelled long ago but we keep rising like the Phoenix 🏌‍♂️🚀😍 #Roadto1million," he wrote.

MacG hosts the popular podcast Podcast and Chill with MacG. The podcaster is not new in the entertainment scene as he began his broadcasting and television career as a child star on e.TV’s popular show Craz-e, where he presented a show from 2000 to 2005.

Soon after his departure from the channel. He joined a community radio station based in Ganghi Square called JBCCR, Joburg City Community Radio where he presented the weekly top 40 every Saturday. MacG later took a deejay’ing job at YFM. Where he hosted a number of shows at the station.

His rise to fame came after he commenced hosting the early morning show during weekdays and later the lunchtime show also on Saturdays. His popularity was then launched and his stardom had just began.

According to MambaOnline in 2010 Mukwevho was then suspended and later fired by YFM in 2010 after a complaint was registered with the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa.

The complaint came about after MacG's and his then colleague and producer Junior Dikwa were making fun of the gay community. Mukwevho later apologised for his remarks but was still dismissed from the radio station.

According to the afternoon broadcast of the MacG Unleashed show, Mukwevho said: “Almost time to check out what’s happening in the world of news, but before we do that, now I thought that I hate gay people, But, hey, this guy is on another level hey…”

He then joined 947 radio station where he hosted weeknights show from 10pm-01am and a dance show on Saturday 6-9pm called the 947 Block Party. In 2018, after six years of working at 947, he was let go from the station.

According to Sowetan Live In 2018, MacG allegedly beat his girlfriend and baby mama. The woman opened a case against MacG at the Midrand police station claiming he had kicked and beat her to a pulp. She withdrew the charges of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm
against him.

MacG spent a night in the police holding cells as a result of the charges. The Podcast and Chill With MacG alongside co-host Sol Phendula, was launched in 2018. The first episode of the podcast was released in July of 2018. The podcast has done tremendously with its controversial interviews and unsavory commentary.

According to TimesLive in 2021, MacG came under fire for his comments on the LGBTQI+ community after he made fun of issues surrounding transgender women Following that risky ‘misstep’, several sponsors of the Podcast and Chill with MacG found themselves in the middle of crossfire and were compelled to withdrew their sponsorship to the podcast.

In an article by EWN in 2021, Old Mutual terminated its contract with MacG. In a statement Old Mutual said: “Old Mutual has seen the discussion that took place on MacG's podcast. As a responsible business that fully respects the rights of everyone, we have decided to terminate the relationship with MacG, with immediate effect. We distance ourselves from the harmful commentary against the LGBTQI community and humanity at large”

As a result, Mukwevho’s podcast took a hard knock after social media was up in arms which then led to a string of sponsors pulling out from sponsoring the podcast. However, in the same token the Podcast and Chill with MacG gained a whole new number of followers following the controversy. MacG later recognized the impact his reckless commentary around the LGBTQI+ community had and he was left with no choice but to apologize to the LGBTQI+ community at large.

Not long ago, MacG again landed in hot water after a clip from an interview with an American singer, Ari Lennox went viral. He asked the singer a very personal question. MacG asked Lennox what inspired one of her earlier singles titled ‘Pop’ and said “and where are we at right now, is someone f****** you good right now? Social media, especially Twitter became a battlefield between the Americans and South Africans over the American singer Ari Lonnox’s outrage over MacG.

Today, Podcast and Chill with MacG celebrates 500k YouTube subscribers which all attributes to the unorthodox and cutthroat unsavory commentary that MacG and co-host Sol Phendula brings.
