South Africans have been at the heart of this year's Oscars conversation after a night which saw everything from historic feats to controversial comments without forgetting the jaw-dropping fashion.
As has been recently the case, this year's ceremony inspired plenty of debate across our timelines.

#Anele Slays The Red Carpet
South Africans had representation at this year's Oscars where Anele, for the second year in a row, hosted the Red Carpet. Once the superstar presenter dismissed her trolls in painful manner, she took us on a mesmerising journey into Hollywood's most dazzling evening.
Twitter hailed the red carpet queen for bringing it in every sense:

#Parasite Makes History
The 92nd Academy Awards took place in Los Angeles on Sunday and it's no surprise that the ceremony has dominated social media timelines across the globe for the last 24 hours. Big winners included Parasite, which became the first foreign language film to ever win the biggest prize on the night: Best Picture.
The film is about __ and South Africans who had watched (and definitely not illegally downladed it) the film had this to say:
We were pleased to see some of our own slamming some of the blatantly racist reactions to Bong Joon-ho's decision to give an acceptance speech in his home language, Korean.
#Kanye is back!
Old Kanye made another rare sighting at this year's Oscars and his loyal SA fans were pleased to see Mr West returning to his finest fashion form.
Still, that wasn't even the best thing about Kanye on the night. As magnificent as he looked, he still stood back to let his wife steal the shine. You love to see it:
#OscarsFashion - Who was the Best Dressed?
Two words. One singer. Janelle Monae.
Moghel brought it with the kind of style and grace she has become renowned for and we don't blame Anele for nabbing her for a quick interview! She looked incredible and wins my "Best Dressed" award for the night.
