Bazoumana Toure was all smiles after sealing his £43 million switch to Newcastle United from Hoffenheim.
The Ivorian attacker shows no sign of dampening his mood, with former Hammarby team-mate Nahir Besara describing his constant upbeat attitude.
“It doesn’t matter whether it’s a good day or a tough one,” Besara said. “He always heads into the dressing room with a smile and is ready to get to work.”
The deal represents the newest chapter in a fast-moving career for the 20-year-old, who had long held ambitions of playing in the Premier League.
Toure’s climb has been swift: he signed for Swedish outfit Hammarby in 2024 before moving on to Hoffenheim a year later.
After only 18 months competing in Germany’s top flight, he took to the skies again, boarding a private jet with his destination set for Tyneside.
Toure has also made it clear he has not forgotten the people who supported him at key stages of his journey.
“The day before he left Hammarby, he sent me money as a present,” Besara said. “I did return it, but it was an incredible gesture.
“He wanted me to know he was grateful for what I did for him, but to be honest I felt even more thankful—because he joined our club and helped us.
“He’s someone I’ll never forget.”
