Ousmane Dembélé told supporters gathered at the base of the Eiffel Tower that Paris St Germain will go after a third straight Champions League crown next season, as the city marked consecutive European triumphs.
Standing before the trophy they lifted after beating Arsenal on Saturday, the forward thanked the crowd and promised, “We’ll be back next year with the third one,” while chants and dancing accompanied Daft Punk’s “One More Time.”
There was a noticeably relaxed feel to the celebrations as brief showers moved on and sunshine took over. That contrast stood out against the darker scenes overnight, when clashes linked to post-match celebrations across the capital left more than 200 people injured and one person dead.
