Renovations behind the updated kick-off times

Acting organising committee chairman Hon. Gbenga Banji explained that the start times were changed due to renovation work currently taking place at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium. He noted that the upgrade project was commissioned by Governor Biodun Oyebanji with the aim of bringing the facility up to national standards.

Banji added that the MOB Unity Cup final is among the first major events planned to be held at the stadium since the renovation began.

Sponsorship and the tournament’s purpose

The tournament is sponsored by Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele and is intended to lift grassroots sports standards across Ekiti State. Organisers say earlier editions have helped identify and develop players who have gone on to compete in Nigeria’s league system as well as abroad.
