Nigeria’s Mariam Eniola Bolaji secured a silver medal at the British & Irish Para-Badminton International 2026 in Ireland on Sunday, finishing as runner-up in the women’s singles SL3 category after a narrow defeat to Japan’s Shino Kawai.

Bolaji and Kawai produced a tight contest in the SL3 showpiece, with the Japanese player edging the first set 21-18 before completing the win in the second set 23-21. Despite the loss, Bolaji forced Kawai into a highly competitive match, pushing her all the way in both games.
