Nigeria’s 3×3 basketball squad is currently in training camp in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with just 14 days remaining before the 2026 Commonwealth Games get under way in Glasgow, Scotland, the National Sports Commission (NSC) said on Wednesday.
Build-up to Glasgow 2026
The NSC confirmed that the 3×3 team is camped in Amsterdam, with the Games’ countdown at two weeks.
D’Tigers forward Ike Nwamu is set to captain the group during the final stages of preparation.
Before the squad travels to Glasgow, the team will play two international friendly matches in Amsterdam.
As preparations step up, several Nigerian athletics athletes based abroad are expected to land in the United Kingdom in the coming days, including Kanyinsola Ajayi, Tobi Amusan, Samuel Ogazi and Ezekiel Nathaniel.
The NSC also noted that more than 75 athletes are training in a camp in Aberdeen ahead of their last trip to Glasgow for the opening ceremony.
