
Lesley Ugochukwu, a highly rated Super Eagles prospect, has touched down in Istanbul as he prepares to complete his transfer to Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray.
Ugochukwu’s arrival and expected next steps
- Ugochukwu landed in Istanbul to finalise his move to reigning champions Galatasaray.
- He was met at the airport by Galatasaray board member Abdullah Kavukcu.
- Following the welcome, the midfielder is expected to go through a medical examination before putting pen to paper.
Galatasaray have reportedly reached agreement on a €30 million arrangement with English club Burnley for the 22-year-old.
Speaking after arriving, Ugochukwu said: “When I was little, I always dreamed of playing for big teams. Now I’ve come to a big club like Galatasaray. I’m very happy.”
The midfielder is a former Rennes academy graduate and has previously been part of Chelsea and Southampton setups. Last season, he made 38 appearances for Burnley, scoring three goals in the campaign.
