One thing about Nonku Williams, she will not leave a rumour unaddressed, especially one made against her. So it was only a matter of time until she said something about those Robert Marawa dating rumours.
Taking to Instagram to share an image of herself, Nonku said she was introduced to Robert by her PR lady who saw it necessary that they meet. Robert's fascination for red wine made sense for them to meet seeing how Nonku owns a wine company, A2B Wine.
"I was introduced to Mr. Robert Marawa at the Easter Polo by my PR lady who has recently acquired my portfolio. She felt it was good for both parties to know each. But mostly because she knew Robert has an appreciation of red wine and that I own a wine brand (A2B wine)."
When Robert tasted her wine, he was left impressed so he gifted her some sports gear which he owns, "[This] Past Saturday I was invited to the Standard Bank Polo in Joburg. I had promised to give Robert my red wine collection. Clearly the wine was superb and Robert appreciated it and gifted me with his MSW (Marawa Sports Worldwide) memorabilia...other than the work, there's nothing to say. We are colleagues supporting each other's businesses..."
Robert always keeps his life away from the spotlight but when he was a guest on Podcast And Chill, he spoke about his relationship with Pearl Thusi and how they are still in talking terms. Speaking on how and why things ended, he said, "There's no response...relationship came to an end, she's right. There's always been mutual respect. Actually we communicated the other day," he said to Mac G's surprise.
Then the story of how they met differs. This is his version, "She tells me a different story but my memory vs her memory is different. It was, you know these Polo events, it was just the end of the polo [event], she was driving a polo, and we had parked far...and we were just walking and she was driving, then kind of stopped, and offered me a lift, but I said no don't worry about that."
"With Pearl there was respect, she also got the gig when she was in Quantico where she was in New York. Which was a positive thing because I always knew that the one thing which always driven her career was to one day hold a statue, Oscar award," he said.
Pearl as well once touched on her relationship with Robert, "Robert and I had a great relationship, things did not work out for reasons we rather not talk about. That wasn't our intentions but that's what happened. You need to know when to leave situations no matter how much you want to stay. When something is not good for you, don't stay in it, learn from it and move on," she said to Mac G.
