Somizi and Mohale's wedding has proven to be one of the biggest wedding ceremonies we have ever seen (nevermind just in Mzansi, anywhere!). But one thing you'll notice is that there was a limited amount of content shared on social media from the wedding itself. That's because Somizi deliberately asked guests at his and Mohale's wedding to put away their mobile devices.
The presenter took to social media to explain how he asked all of his guests to leave their cellphones and cameras outside of the gates of their luxurious wedding venue in Muldersdrift, Johannesburg.
Somizi hilariously explained on Instagram, “When we decided to tell our wedding guests, via invites, that there will be no phones or cameras allowed beyond the venue gates, I'm sure most of them had a mini heart attack, thinking how they're gonna get through the day without their phones,”
The Idols SA Judge had a solution in mind, though, unique Instax instant cameras. He explained, “We were also very considerate towards our guests as we gifted them with instant cameras to capture special memories for themselves. The venue was too exquisite for the guests not to take any pics,”
One of the other key reasons behind Somizi's reason was to preserve the privacy of their big day until the wedding airs on Showmax. Somizi and Mohale: The Union, the couple's wedding special, will be making its way to the streaming platform on the 24th of February. Somizi explained:
"The main reasons for that was so that people can engage with each other. Can enjoy every moment with their naked eyes. But also for us as grooms to have exclusive privacy of our day until everyone can get to witness it on [Showmax] from the 24th February 2020. "
The countdown is truly on for the day we can watch the first episode of SomHale's wedding production. The four-part series will tell their story from the closest possible vantage point and let fans in on the inner workings of their relationship.
If you don't already have a Showmax account, now is probably the time to sign up for one!
