Exclusive: Beauty And Brains! TDK Is More Than Just A Pretty Face

TDK speaks about her future and her new release.

There's more to Durban-based gqom sensation TDK Macasette, than meets the eye. The KZN beauty has cemented her place in the hearts of many South Africans, with her incredible dance moves and hit lyrics.

They often say that hard work pays off right? TDK is an epitome of that.

The stunner recently had an interview with ZAlebs about her illustrious music career and plans for her future. TDK who graduated last year with a PR and communications diploma at DUT, recently released her single Queens, which is dedicated to women in the country.

She said woman endure a lot so she wanted to serve as a beacon of hope and inspire them that they will conquer "The song is dedicated to all the women who are experiencing hardships in life, it is meant to celebrate and empower one another, we go through a lot as women so I wanted to spread some love and just to tell them that they are a rock and beautiful."

The single is a mixture of gqom and afro-fusion. TDK had many convinced that she was leaving the gqom genre with this single but she said she is not "Gqom, is my first love, I just wanted to explore more as a musician, I am growing and learning, so it is always good to try different sounds"

TDK who has her own communication management company said she sees herself behind the desk in the future "I see my self running a big company when I take a break from music, whether it is a production company or anything because this industry is very unpredictable, so it is always good to have a backup plan."

She said her qualification is assisting her a lot with her brand and, she will definitely utilize it in the future. TDK is also passionate about acting, the musician said she would also love to venture into acting and see how it goes "I have a little bit of experience in acting, I did some theatre plays, so I would like to make it happen on the big screens but only time will tell, she said.

TDK said she had planned to release an album this year, but due to the nationwide lockdown, things are uncertain.
