Thobi Mkhwanazi believes that a lot has changed in the entertainment industry. The former child star, who made a name for herself on kids' programmes back in the day, sees a huge difference between child stars in her era and child stars now.
Speaking on Motswako, she said that back then, they didn't know they were famous: "We were just playing and we were just having fun... I think a lot of child stars today really feel that they are celebrities and that pressure that comes with it is extremely enourmous, it's quite heavy."
Oh, and things have also changed financially. She explained on the SABC2 talkshow: "The money we used to get paid, no offence to anybody out there, was hardly anything to go by. There were no endorsement deals."
Thobi, who took time out to study and travel, is also a mother. She said motherhood has really defined other aspects of who she is. She added that she has no regrets: "I would do me all over again."
