Thuso Takes Over Vogue Magazine

Two times Emmy nominated actress Thuso Mbedu is doing well for herself. She will be gracing the Vogue Magazine next month. The internationally renowned actress announced the good news on her social media yesterday.

Thuso shared her picture with a caption: “Things to look forward to: The May 2021 issue of vogue Magazine celebrating Mr. Giorgio Armani”
Last month  Thuso announced that she bagged herself a leading role in an American series called The Underground Railroad. She plays the role of Cora in the series.

Announcing the news on Twitter, she tweeted a trailer of the series captioned: “History is made by those who dare to try! You have asked and now consider yourself answered: #TheUndergroundRailroad arrive on @PrimeVideo May 14. For more info go to @TheUGRailroadTV. Ndi cela nibe ready ngama subscriptions come May. Please and thank you in advance”

The trailer shows her character Cora catching a train and also moves on to show other parts of the story.
In January this year, Thuso alongside Nomzamo Mbatha was listed on Essence as Young Black Hollywood stars to watch in 2021. The list focuses on “Black Hollywood stars that continue to stand up, speak up and make a difference on and off-screen.”

Thuso’s acting career dates back to 2014 when she scored herself a small role on Isibaya, the same year she bagged herself a lead role on Saints and Sinners playing the role of Boni Khumalo. Thuso has worked her way to the top ever since.

She has scooped herself international award nominations. In 2017 she was nominated for an Emmy Award in the category Best Performing Actress for her role in the telenovela Is'Thunzi. In 2018 she was nominated again for an Emmy Award for the same telenovela and category.

She has been nominated for two local awards, in 2017 she was nominated for the Best Actress at the DSTV Viewers Choice Awards. in 2018 she won the Best Actress on TV Drama at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA). Thusu has also appeared on other South Africa's top soapies, she played Kitso Medupe in the soap opera Scandal, Nosisa in Isibaya, and Boni Khumalo in Saints and Sinners just to name a few.
