The South African Hip Hop Awards voting process looks pretty impressive, maybe the organisers should just create a category which pays homage to the fans because A-Reece's truly need it. Forget the Beehive, A-Reece's fans are simply legendary.

The rapper has been bad mouthed for years now and people are still labelling him and underground artist. Despite having career longevity and hits albums, the fact that he is not gracing American billboards like his peers Nasty C, people think A-Reece is yet to make it.

Even when it comes to awards he rarely takes home any. But to win an award, one must submit before closing dates right? Well, Reece never bothered but after giving it some thought and the pressure from his fanbase, he did.

In showing just how much they support him, they are voting pretty hard for the rapper, making the other artist's fans look very bad.

One of the categories A-Reece is nominated in is the the Artist Of The Decade category which received mixed emotions from people who did not understand how the likes of him and the other rappers who have not been in the game for 10 years.

Nominated under that category is Kuli Chana, Kwesta, Riky Rick, AKA, Nadia Nakai, Da Les, Cassper Nyovest, Emtee, K.O, Nasty C Stogie T, A Reece, Youngsta CPT, Gigi Lamayne and Zakwe. Out of all the names, Cassper Nyovest is the one everybody feels, deserves the award. But then the numbers do not seem to add up as Cassper Nyovest's fans are not voting for him enough.

On the other hand you have A Reece fans who are coming out in their numbers to vote for the rapper.
With the politics currently going on in Hip Hop, A-Reece keeps mum and away from beefs. One man though who tried it with him, Cassper Nyovest is always vocal about it. He did not shy away from calling out the gatekeepers of the industry and that gained him a few haters.

"These are hip hop kids who chose to explore their talents to the fullest. Why is it a crime ? Hip hop needs to stop excluding itself from the growth of South African music. It's not a competition, it's all the same thing. Embrace the new, learn and feed off one another, or sink," he advised.

The haters he gained are the likes of Costa Titch who called him out for his hypocrisy saying Hip Hop made him so he cannot ditch the game like this. Costa released a lengthy statement calling Cassper out.

"You keep pushing this narrative of being on either side "I'll see Hip Hop in 3 years etc." "If you tell me I'm the greatest I'll jump on a Hip Hop song again with one of the new kids." and that's not right in my opinion.

"I feel you should have the right to do anything you wish and make both genres with a positive attitude without talking down on any of the genres. Also please let's not forget that SA Hip Hop built your success in the first place. You can do any genre and still push SA music as a whole forward as you have major influence."
