While we patiently wait for the premiering of the much-anticipated show blood and water which set to appear on our screens for season 2. The lead actress in Blood & Water Ama Qamata has been quite busy according to her latest Instagram posts.
We best know Ama from a variety of roles but her most recent one gaining her a lot of fame and attention is her role of Puleng Kumalo on Netflix Africa's second original series Blood & Water. The popular teen series tells the tale of Puleng Khumalo, who is uncovering the cold case of her older sister, who was abducted at birth. By chance, she finds herself at an elite private school where she uncovers many secrets and finds herself one step closer to figuring out what happened to her missing sister.
Ama Qamata has made a few appearances in numerous TV shows including My Perfect Family, Muvhango, and Rhythm City. The petite actress currently portrays the role of Buhle on Mzansi Magic's hit Telenovela Gomora. Her career on screen is just getting started. Ama studied Theatre and Performance at the University of Cape Town, and she says her journey in the industry has been nothing short of amazing.
The young starlet has been on social media in her off time and has taken to sharing her adventures and moments on her personal Instagram account. posting everything from chilled selfies and pictures to more groundbreaking content such as her recent ad campaign with sportswear giant Adidas featuring the new slogan “impossible is nothing”
Recently Ama Qamata took a little bit of a break from posting chilled and relaxed selfies to post about something a little bit more serious. She posted a collection of photos and videos and took to post about an event and a cause that she holds close to her heart which is encouraging and inspiring young actors and actresses.
She did this by attending an event that was created to honour and encourage young talent in Port Elizabeth. The event was held by Kiddzpas an agency A Film Production & Acting Studio for Teens and Kids.
The event had a red carpet and Ama was definitely red carpet ready. Ama has been slowly branding herself as a fashionista, although this was a children's event she still pulled out all the stops in her appearance, Ama definitely stole the show by wearing a chic Thebe Magugu suit paired with a pair of white heels, minimal makeup and a sleek ponytail. Ama had the honour of handing out awards to the young actors and actresses. In addition to handing awards out the starlet also took the time to share a few words with the kids who were in attendance. thanking those in attendance for taking their time to invest in the youth. she went on to address the youngsters in the audience urging them to remember the values of “ humility, gratitude and respect, even adding it to her caption.
We can’t wait to see Ama Qamata in Blood & Water season 2, but until then we’ll keep an eye on her Instagram.
