She may be a mom of three beautiful children, but just a few years ago Basetsana Kumalo suffered a loss that made her question her journey into motherhood
The businesswoman and author of Bassie: My Journey Of Hope spoke to Gareth Cliff on his CliffCentral podcast about the pain of miscarrying twin babies in 2007.
In the interview, former Top Billing producer spoke about everything; from Instagram bullies to fertility clinics to her toxic relationship with Dingaan Thobela.
But it was her pain of losing her unborn babies that really touched fans.
She said in the interview, "It was just beyond painful to battle your fertility journey in public, wherein one day you'll be written about that you're having a baby and the next day they say she's lost the baby. I mean the 20 weeks [in which] I lost the twins in 2007."
Basetsana also shared that she blamed herself for the mid-term miscarriage
"And you blame yourself to say maybe I should have rested a little bit more, maybe I shouldn't have traveled or taken on that assignment. It also makes you doubt yourself ... "
But the painful incident didn't hinder her desire to continue her quest of wanting to bear children.
"I had to find it within me to not lose hope and faith that I will be a mother of many. It's something that's always been in my consciousness and I knew I was going to be a mother.
"Even when it didn't look possible, I refused to give up, I refused to quit, I refused to believe that it was not for me and thank God, I've got three beautiful children today who are just remarkable.”
Fans were left speechless by Basetsana's candid conversations about her life experiences, especially those that happened behind-the-scenes.
One fan wrote, "Wow sisi... after listening to this, I am definitely getting your book, I am inspired already and want to hear more."
Sis Bassie has some interesting stories to tell - have you bought her book yet?
