He's probably one of the most respected pastors and Gospel musicians in the country.
With a number of hits under his name and three sons who are also revered and celebrated in the Gospel community, Pastor Benjamin Dube has undoubtedly had a good, if not great run in his career.
Speaking to DJ Fresh on Metro FM, the Pastor was asked how he has managed to remain in the music industry for so long. Benjamin attested his longevity in the industry with always doing the right thing and aligning himself with clear morals.
"I always just live my life according to principals, I do not have a clear strategy, I've always been that one person who believes in doing the right thing at the right time and I'm always in pursuit of doing that in everything I do."
Having been in the industry for so long, the pastor also had some choice words to share with young musicians who have just had a taste of fame and the fortune it brings.
"I would say that these things come and go but you need to actually protect your gift and your craft and also keep developing it and become innovative in whatever you have."
Dube also added that whether you're new or old in the industry, always make room to learn new things, that will make you an even better artist.
"You also need to give yourself a chance to learn something new all the time, there are some people who are fresh and new to the industry and there's something you can always learn from them, I always do that and ensure I keep my head on the ground. You're never too old to learn, a great person is not somebody who has a big head but someone who is grounded, we have so many people in the industry who are big but they're bloated. By listening and learning from other people you actually stay longer in this industry." said the Pastor.
