Ever since #FeesMustFall first trended, many have been doing their part to cover the shortfall faced by South African students when it comes to the intense financial needs of tertiary education institutions.
One such person is twitter user and 2X graduate, @Ursula_Joy, who goes around selling homemade gemere (ginger juice) for one rand in order to raise whatever funds she can to help students. She opted to use Twitter as her mass-marketing tool of choice but got more than she bargained for when rapper, Cassper Nyovest sat up and took notice.
Nyovest then tweeted his fellow hustler and pledged R100,000 of the proceeds from his earnings off of his December performances towards to cause.
Nyovest then met up with @Ursula_Jpy to make good on his promise and a friend of hers shared the news on Twitter.
“Mama,I made it! Happy belated” pun intended 😉

Thank you @CassperNyovest For planting the seed towards our education. The kids are going to school. Damn and your fragrance is 💯 pic.twitter.com/OzK1GVKaE4
We often applaud Nyovest for being about the things he says he is about and this is just another instant in which we stand by that sentiment.
