For Caster, it has always been about sports, the fame and money came secondary.
After she graced the cover of ELLE South Africa Magazine last week the spotlight on Caster Semenya has become even greater.
Her cover on the illustrious magazine has been celebrated across the world, celebrities such as the likes of Nomzamo Mbatha have coined it as a game changer.
International media networks such as the BBC were so intrigued by the cover that they even tracked down ELLE South Africa to learn more about the magazine's decision to place the Olympian gold-medalist on the cover.
However, the attention Caster Semenya has been receiving since the day she stepped on the race track, is something she pays no attention to.
In the interview with ELLE Magazine Caster mentioned that the negative attention she tends to receive actually fuels her to be a better person in every aspect of her life.
"The noise, it motivates me. It encourages me to do well and to be a better person not only for myself but in life, how I see and how I treat people."
With all the money, endorsements and the glitz and glam that has gravitated her way, the athlete mentioned that her being a star was never part of the plan, for her it was always about being herself and her love for sports.
"I just want to be me for me. They have to see the real me. If I am going to live for other people, I am not me. I have a responsibility towards myself. I never had big dreams, I loved sports, I didn't want to be a star, I believed in myself then, and I still do today." She told publication.
We also came across this ELLE mystery box game that Caster played and it was interesting the way she answered all the questions from the ELLE mystery box.
