In Part 2 of our exclusive interview with Dan Platansky, we spoke to the singer/guitarist about other acts he'd like to see coming to South Africa as well as his plans for the festive season.

What do you think of South Africa's status as a concert hosting country?

There's massive appeal for these supergroups and these superstars to be coming to South Africa right now. I'm pretty sure that for a long time, SA never crossed Bruce's mind. However, our country is an untapped market for some of these guys. Springsteen will sell out his shows all over the world and the question is "Where next?" SA is the way forward for a lot of these acts because we will sell just as well as any other country.

As a fan, who would you like to see come to SA next?

I'm into a lot of niche market artists, most South Africans wouldn't know who they are! On a bigger scale, however, Eric Clapton coming to South Africa would be epic.

Did you celebrateThanksgiving/Black Friday last week?

No haha, to be honest. I think its very important to be thankful, but I've never celebrated Thanksgiving or Black Friday, although I see that there are a lot of specials!

What are your plans for the christmas holidays?

Our year has winded up already, there's no more shows on the cards thankfully. The only thing on the cards now is the two guitar weekends. Me and the wife are going to Cape Agulhas just to enjoy a bit of time off until the 6th of January where we will be back in studio. I need that break, I'm utterly exhausted!

If you could record one official cover of a song, which would it be and why?

I'd probably cover a song called Black Dog by Led Zeppelin, I've always loved that song. If I had to do it, I wouldn't mess with the arrangement too much. Maybe throw in a slight sense

Lastly, is there a message you'd like to send to your fans?

The message is I'm looking forward to Gutar weekend, and the Bruce Springsteen thing is a massive milestone and I'll keep bringing my all to the table!
