Radio personality Dineo Ranaka has joined a new home after her unexpected exit from Metro FM. Dineo joins Kaya 959 along with podcast guru Sol Phenduka.
In a statement shared, it is said Dineo's last time on Metro FM will be on June 17. An opportunity for Dineo to explore greener pastures presented itself and she could not resist it.
“After 4 years, Dineo Ranaka’s time at Metro FM has come to an end. Her last show on air will be on Friday 17th June 2022. This comes after a fantastic opportunity presented itself and the timing could not have been perfect for Ranaka.”
The statement did hint that she would be joining a new home, but at the time, was not specific which radio station she moved on to. She will also be focusing on her music career as well.
“The road does not end here for Dineo in radio. Details pertaining to her new radio home will be shared in due course. She will also take this time to work on her music career and the OpenID podcast. Following the warm reception Ukhona featuring Nokwazi received from her fans, Ranaka plans to release her second single in July 2022,” the statement continued.

Dineo & Sol will co-host new show set to be part of Kaya 959’s new line-up starting in July 2022.
In an interview with Drum Magazine, she spoke about her new home and how she could not turn it down because she needs to expand.
“My time at Metro FM has been nothing short of amazing and adventurous. I have enjoyed both my relationship with management, colleagues, listeners, as well as advertisers. It has truly been beautiful. An opportunity to expand myself has been presented to me and it was one I couldn’t resist.”
Dineo Ranaka reported to be leaving Metro FM after 4 years of hosting The Bridge.

In another interview with SowetanLIVE, Dineo spoke so fondly of the Metro FM team and how they had all become family so she will miss them. “I’m really happy there and I really had a good time. I’m going to miss how we’ve become family to each other. I’m gonna miss how I’m finally understood and I don’t have to try too hard anymore," she told the publication.
“It’s bittersweet because this is the happiest departure I’ve ever had in my entire career. It’s not toxic, it’s not angry, there’s no fights, no animosity. I’m leaving with a hell of a lot of their blessings and that’s the spirit that I’m going to miss," she told the publication.
