There is no doubt that DJ Maphorisa is one of the most influential forces in our local music industry. He took to Twitter recently to remind everyone of this, and to ask people to celebrate him before it’s too late.
The award winning DJ went online to remember all that he has done for the music industry in SA. He talked about having sacrificed a lot for the good of the industry, and having put on many new artists.
He further said that he single handedly changed the game, and that without him, it would all be the same as it was. Amapiano exists because of him, and Mzansi needs to recognise that and give him his flowers before it’s too late.
I suffered for the kids to eat proper food “the music industry”,Remember that if i was not there the game will still be the same.

I took a big sacrifice fighting for yall
Amapiano guys are all eating now,a dream come true❤️
Please appreciate me while im still kicking danko🙏🏾
Fans immediately agreed with him. I mean, it would be quite difficult to disagree, wouldn’t it? After all, it was DJ Maphorisa, along with his co-conspirator and fellow legend, Kabza De Small, who started the Amapiano genre from nothing, and grew it to what it is now.
Our Piano celebrities are now making big waves on the international scene, and we cannot deny that the two of them – Scorpion Kings, as they like to be called – are to thank for it.
Speaking of the Scorpion Kings, Madumane recently announced that the two of them will be having a live event soon. He did not give any dates yet, but promised that they would be released in due course.

As you can imagine, fans are already excited about the event, even though all he did was post a tweet. No posters or dates are ready, and there is no telling how soon it will be. This tells us all what a magnificent force they are, and how much they have their fans invested in them and their careers.
It makes sense that Phori would remind people to rate him now. In the past, he has been taken for granted, and there are those that thought he would fail.
In fact, just recently, he looked back on his journey, remembering those that thought he would fail and called him crazy when he attempted to break out into Piano. They thought the genre would not last, and that it would all end in tears for him.
But he has clearly had the last laugh, and we hope he continues to. What a legendary icon he is, and this is us officially giving him his flowers.
