Donald on how he keeps himself sane

When it comes to having social media as a public figure you face a lot of public scrutiny, and believe it or not, celebrities are not immune to the hate. Award-winning singer, Donald is amongst the celebrities that have had their fair share of scrutiny.

Just like how media personalities, Lerato Kganyago and Bonang Matheba have utilized the block button to shut out the hate in their lives and what they expose themselves to, Donald has a strategy of his own that works for him.

In a recent Instagram post, Donald revealed his secret to keeping a sound mind in the entertainment industry, saying:

“I think for me, how I keep the positive energy around me, first let me say that it not easy to be in this industry, it’s very difficult being in the limelight so there are a lot of things to do.  To keep sain...I do my best to have a lot of me time, a time where I can listen to my thoughts and I can connect with my spiritual self. I listen to some great music..that’s what I do to keep calm and make sure there’s some normal things. There is a lot of things that are not normal in the music industry.”

Although the singer is aware of the hardships that he faces in the limelight, Donald has always wanted to be in the spotlight as he expressed that he had always wanted to be a soccer star before venturing into music.

“I wanted to actually be a soccer player, I played soccer all the way until under nineteen, played for WITS University under 19, played for Jomo cosmos under 19, so I thought I was gonna be a professional football player."
