As festivities for this year's prestigious Vodacom Durban July have been put on hold, horse racing enthusiasts are in for a treat, as they will still be able to enjoy the show virtually.
This follows after Gold Circle recently announced that, the event will be a broadcast-only event this year, and it will take place behind closed doors.
One of the event's most premium lounges at the event, Pegasus Virtual Lounge, is set to bring you all the excitement of the Durban July straight to your door.
“This year has brought so many challenges, it has forced us to think outside of the box, quite literally,” says Sazi Ngcobo, director and co-owner of Rusco Experiential, the Johannesburg and Durban-based.
For the 2020 Vodacom Durban July, the Pegasus Virtual Lounge, will see VDJ fans fully immerse themselves in the experience of the day, in the comfort of their own homes, minus sweatpants and loungewear.
The emphasis is all on race day fashion this year, so people will be expected to go glam when interpreting the "Butterflies theme", to compete for the spot in the best-dressed awards, which will be shared on social media.
To be exposed to all of this, you will be required to buy a ticket that will grant them access to view and be part of the virtual lounge, hosted on a custom secure streaming platform. Prior to the event, the Rusco Experiential team will deliver a hamper that includes Tanqueray, Heineken, mixers and a goodie bag. And on the day of the event, food will also be delivered to your door.
The line up which is expected to headline the show, will feature the likes of DJ PH and Ms Cosmo, who will keep the atmosphere electric throughout the day.
“The Pegasus Lounge has been a feature at the Durban July for the past decade. This will be our 11th year and we are seeing this as an opportunity to offer our clients, friends, and anyone who has a passion for watching the races in South Africa, a chance to be part of an incredibly unique lounge. Horse racing has been part of our family for decades and we are passionate about working with Durban July to ensure The sport of horse racing in South Africa,” concludes Russell Scott, director, and co-owner of Rusco Experiential.
So R1900 gets you in, let's meet there.
