Music fans across SA are about to get their lives when neo-soul music icon, Erykah Badu, heads to South Africa to headline the sixth annual DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival.
DSTV Delicious is all about the big names in music, both locally and internationally and over the years, they have brought crowds the likes of Common, TKZee, Chaka Khan, Jamiroquai, Hugh Masekela, De La Soul, Lira, Macy Gray, Thandiswa Mazwai & Bongo Maffin as well as Black Coffee.
Due to the overwhelming success, organisers have reportedly decided to retain the newly-introduced two-day format and venue of the festival.
This year, Badu will be joined by New Zealand’s young soul singer and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Rakei, who recently wowed local fans when he played his first-ever South African gig in Cape Town. DJ collective, Jazzanova, and the British acid jazz band, D’Influence have also been added to a line-up that is set to grow as the year goes by.
According to the orgnaizers, festivalgoers can expect an even bigger and better gastronomical experience at this extensive market this year, including a Coca-Cola Taste of the City installation, which will boast 10 pop-up "restos" that will serve up their flagship dishes.
In addition to the music, the organizers say patrons can enjoy a delectable multi-course meal perfectly curated by celebrity chef Reuben Riffel. "The long-table restaurant will have its own private bar with a variety of drinks that will perfectly complement every bite. DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival has hosted some of the biggest names including MasterChef SA Judge Pete Goffe-Wood, chefs Reza Mahammad, Siba Mtongana, Jenny Morris, Rachel Khoo, Ed Baines, John Burton Race and more" explained DSTV in a statement.
