SA hip hop royalty flocked to Johannesburg's Bassline, Newtown, this afternoon for Flabba's memorial service. The rapper was allegedly stabbed to death by his girlfriend, Cindy Manqele, on Monday morning.Cindy, who appeared in court on Tuesday will appear again on 16 March.

Several speakers took to the stage to speak about the late Swatta Kamp rapper. They all had wonderful things to say about Flabba, who was also a father. And, one thing they all agreed on was that Flabba was a one of a kind.

His sister Nonkululeko shared her feelings on the events that transpired, revealing that she thought it was a great tragedy. She shared wonderful stories about her brother and told the crowd that even though he was a grown man and a great husband, Flabba still respected her as an older sister.

His friends, Lucky and Nkuli talked about how he was like a brother to them. They said he cared most about his family and music. "He was never two-faced, always spoke his mind."

The hip hop star's memorial service was not only attended by the hip hop fraternity, but also by legends like Yvonne Chaka Chaka. The singer used this opportunity to encourage South African artists to unite and work together. She also urged the government to support local musicians, instead of investing too much money on international stars like Jay Z and 50 Cent.

Things got very interesting when the Skwatta Kamp members took to the podium to talk about their friend. They shared funny stories about their brother, explained where it all began and even hailed Flabba as the greatest.

Slikour, who said he was with the late rapper at Saturday's Axecess Jozi event, said: "He [Flabba] was coming back, maybe he was just saying goodbye to all of us. He also described him as a great and authentic guy who would always speak his mind.

"He never cared about the industry. He had a talent and the industry needed him... He is what a unique rapper is globally. There will never be another."

Artists like Maxhoba and Nothende gave emotional and touching performances dedicated to Flabba. Rappers Kwesta and JR also performed at the memorial service.
