On a now-deleted tweet, the football club used Mayo’s beat on the background of the video announcing their newest member of the team.

Mayo is the song by Speedsta featuring Frank Casino, Teller Man, Shane Eagle, and Yung Swizz.

Gemini said the football club will be hearing from his legal team soon.
He tweeted: “You’ll be hearing from the legal team shortly, weather you removed it or replayed it, still my shit !!”
Speedsta also took to Twitter to react to Cape Town City’s tweet. He told the club to remove the song.

“Who gave you the rights to use the song? Please remove my song from your ad…UPDATE: A different version that was replayed was used for their announcement. I’m a big joke & everything is one big laugh. More life, more blessings to everyone.”

Tweeps took to the comments section to react, @YoungFeregamo wrote: “Why is it hard for corporates to fund artists thou. I'm sure cape town city can afford to pay yall for using this song...”

Other fans, however, believed that the Mayo hitmakers were overreacting.

“Haibo it's just a beat, there's a lot of remakes on YouTube, some of them are free to use. You didn't even make that beat. FYI this is not an advertisement. Just a player announcement. Must be difficult to see when the career is always on a decline, I understand,” wrote Thabang responding to Speedsta.
Speedsta caught some stray bullets a few days ago after he made it clear that he wouldn’t wear Cassper’s new sneaker brand named Root Of Fame.

“Respect to the hustle. lol… That’s about it. I personally wouldn’t wear these,” he tweeted.

Tweeps did not take kindly to Speedsta’s tweeted, Tshego.M said he was being disrespectful: “After the "lol" I knew there was some shitty comment coming...but you weren't asked if you'd cop these...even if you meant no harm but it came out discrediting and disrespectful, Next time don't be too loud Hating on people's work and effort.”
Cassper has also responded to the hate that he has been getting on Social media. He said people always criticize in the beginning.

“They aren't gonna say shit. It's not what you're doing, it's who is doing it. The truth is I am the pulse. I am soo connected 2 da culture that I can't set a foot wrong. They always criticize in the beginning but they ALWAYS FOLLOW. It doesn't matter no more doe, it's adapt or die,” he wrote.
