She has been in the acting industry for 25 years and has been enjoying her life privately but since she joined the set of one of the biggest soapies in Mzansi, her life has changed tremendously.
Actress Silindile Nodangala (42) famously known for her character of “Mam'Ruby Dikobe” in Generations says what has sustained her in the industry is living an old school life.
“I grew up in times where there were no social networks and I have never followed trends, it really helped me because I still live a normal life despite fame. Since I joined Generations people like me so much that they go crazy when they see me, I have even stopped going out often,” said Silindile.
Her character on Generations, Ruby is a shebeen queen who looks after everyone and enjoys cooking for company. The similarities are there off the screen too; in real life Silindile enjoys staying at home and cooking for her family.
“I am one of those madams who cooks for themselves; my helper only does other home chores but not cooking. I don’t go out to restaurants with my boys as much as I would like to but they can always enjoy my meals at home,” she said.
Although she says she is not against any social networks she advised us on having clean fun.
“I am also on Twitter and Instagram but I don’t post naked pictures. Anyone can have fun in a good way and especially when you are in this industry, it can also come back to haunt you,” said Silindile.
