A lot went down at the award show that some were happy and not so happy about.

Khanyi and Somizi

After an awards night of entertainment, fashion, funny tweets and celebrations we're bound to highlight some of the interesting things we saw from the ceremony

Amon and Pearl Modiadie

One thing that stood out were the hosts of the show, Pearl Modiadie and Amon Mokoena. The pair did a good job, delivering their lines trying to make a joke here and there and doing a few things differently. Pearl did a very risque dance routine that we thoroughly enjoyed, now we now we know why Pearl stays working at the gym her body looked amazing

Amon, on the other hand, was ok, he still does an amazing job as a day-time radio host but being an award show host wasn't exactly his strongest  forte'

From the get go, this pair owned the night. Strutting their stuff onto the stage and serving attitude throughout the evening. Their outfits were glamorous and very event appropriate. It's a music award show, and it was clear that these two were having a lot of fun!

Twitter had a bit to say about the pair hosting the major awards as well. According to an SABC source, there was too much "politics" and "payment disputes" involved in choosing the hosts of the show.

Riky Rick's speech

You may hate Riky Rick as much as you want but you can't deny that this guy has always been about the culture and the youth. The speech that he made when he went to go collect his award for Best Hit Single, inspired a whole lot of kids out there.

Listen to the speech one more time, Riky Rick was telling the truth, we only wish he was given the chance to finish what he wanted to get off his chest.

Lerato Kganyago's clap back
Now we all know that watching awards shows on Twitter is just as entertaining as watching them on TV. There was a lot of shade that was thrown at celebrities but the likes of Lerato Kganyago dished out just as much shade as well.

Like when one Twitter user commented on her outfit...

But then Lerato was ready with a very scathing response.

Kwesta and Babes Wodumo snubs

We're not sure how these two artists walked away empty handed last night, they both had the biggest singles in 2016.

A lot of fellow artists and fans were really disappointed at the snubs. Even Mbuyiseni Ndlozi had something to say about this snub.

As well as Zakes Bantwini..

L_Tido was just as disappointed at the results.
