Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha were the invited musical guest on what used to be Africa’s biggest music show, “Live AMP,” now hosted by Speesta and Lamiez Holworthy. The two were invited as the leading It-gqom couple to perform music from their new offerings. But there was also cause for celebrations as Babes Wodumo finally received her platinum plaque for her hit debut album, “Queen of Gqom, Vol. 1.”
The “Indando Kazi” took to Instagram to celebrate her milestone achievement, which she could not celebrate before considering her private life was going through it. Since Babes released the album back in 2016, the star has had drama following her. First it was allegations of abuse, her dragging Lady Zamar, her alleged drug issue, the multiple videos of her drunk. Basically, the only time that it seems that things are going well for the musician is now. So, Babes celebrated the win with a post of her and her plaques.
But in came Mampintsha with his own posts on his Instagram about “their” win. Mampintsha instead of celebrating the woman that he has date for the past 12 years, used the opportunity to make sure that some of that spotlight shines on him too. This is not to say we blame him, the man was featured on almost every track on that debut album but can your girl not shine by herself.
Realising that he was getting dragged again for taking credit for achievement that have been pioneered by his woman, Mampintsha was defiant. The “Bhut’ Madlisa” musician took to Instagram and let it be known that he feels he is being dragged out of jealousy. He made it clear that he is a businessman, and one that is behind one of the biggest names in gqom music so people should chill. That post too, got trolled because again, it is Babes Wodumo’s win and not his.
