Our first encounter of this Cape Townian bombshell of a lady was during her days as a Craz-E presenter. With her gorgeous hair and cute dimple on side, Kim Engelebrecht not only embodied that cute girl next door persona but she was, or rather, still is that type of girl you would bring home to meet your mama.  We've seen her on our television screens as well as on the silver screen and now she's dominating the digital space with the launch of the new Schwarzkopf color hair dye advert.

Are you shocked at the positive response the Schwarzkopf advert has been receiving online?

I’m absolutely flabbergasted! The way it has gone viral in such a short period of time is amazing! It’s like a first for me because I’ve never done such an advert before. The fact that it’s on the pulse of the digital world, which really is an exciting medium, gets me even more excited about this advert.

What do you think the X-factor of the advert was? What was it that had people (especially women) so excited about it?

You know, when I went to audition for the advert; it was like I was going for an acting audition, because the directors were not just looking for someone who had great hair or a pretty face.  They were also looking for two people who portrayed great chemistry in front of the camera and I think that for me was the winning factor of the entire advert.  The way Janez and I portrayed the relationship of both characters really resonated with the viewers, the advert not only shows the rosy-good times but it also showcases the lows of relationships, people aren’t perfect and hair is not perfect either and when people got that message it just became a Youtube sensation.

We’re so used to seeing Janez Vermeiren as a presenter, how was he as an actor?

He’s absolutely amazing and is constantly professional in everything that he does.  He was always just ready to work and do justice to the advert because here you are, surrounded by all of these creatives who’ve had the idea in their heads for a while now and all you want to do is just get the job right and that’s exactly what he did.  I don’t know him personally, but on that day I think we got to really know a lot about each other. I appreciate how honest and open he is too; oh and he really is sexy and cute in real life.

Oh but of course you’d know that, after-all you laid beside him whilst he was topless…

OMG!! It doesn’t get any better than that; it was very dream-like.  You obviously do feel a bit shy until you realise that shame it’s not real and he actually doesn’t really like you like that. [Laughs]

Let’s take it back a couple of years, the first time we saw you on our television screens was when you were still a Craz-E presenter.  Are you still in contact with the first Craz-E presenters from back then?

Some are now in the corporate world; I know that the other one of them is in Dubai.  Brenden is currently working in London for the Catherine Tate show, but everybody is still kind of in the industry but I’m not sure what exactly, probably doing something really amazing.  That was such an exciting time of my life, wow but also a long time ago!

Kim is currently in Cape Town, she's also just finished an American series in which she features in five episodes of.  She's also currently shooting an Afrikaanse series which is due to air in 2015.  We should also be expecting Kim on our silver screens again starring in a new movie titled Konfetti which comes out on the fourth of April.
