Last night's episode, which was season 1's finale brought a lot of unexpected drama. Just when viewers thought Mam Sonto was scot-free from her crimes, she was hit with the biggest surprise of her life. One of her daughters Pretty handed her over to the police together with Mazet and Ntokozo.
Promos from season two have been featuring Katlego Danke's Thati and Zolisa Xaluva's Melusi Dlamini. After the Gomora high principal welcomed Langa as his son, we believe we'll see a shift in season 2. One that'll see Dlamini and Thati get closer as Ntokozo is set to pay for his crimes.
What started as a passion project is now one of South Africa’s most-watched TV dramas. “Our passion project, #Gomora has been renewed for Season 2!! Grateful to our exceptionally talented and hardworking cast and crew for creating magic every day! Grateful to our fans and supporters, thank you for loving our show as much as we do!!”
When Gomora made its debut in early 2020 none of us would have predicted the success it has gone on to achieve. It has even dethroned multi-award-winning Telenovela The Queen. Their team of writers boasts Tshedza Pictures’ Phathu Makwarela and Gwydion Beynon who write for The River 1 Magic.

Not only do fans love its grit and rawness but the fact that it has birthed a new school of actors. These include the likes of Ntobeko Sishi, Sicelo Buthelezi, Ama Qamata, Siphesihle Ndaba but to name a few. It has also reminded us just how talented Mam Connie Chiume, Xolisa Xaluva and Thembi Seete are. It’s the kind of show the nation has been asking for. We hope the forthcoming season is just as good as the first one.
Siphesihle Ndaba has already bagged her first award. She won a Feather Award for the ‘Hottest Woman Of The Year.’
At the 4th Royalty Soapie Awards, hosted by Lerato Kganyago and Mpho Popps. Sicelo Buthelezi was recognized for his exceptional talent and walked away with the Outstanding Newcomer Award.
“Last year during this time, I was sitting at a rehearsal room at The Market Theatre Laboratory not knowing what I’ll be doing after my graduation day... I set there alone watching others plan their stuff and I thought to myself “I may not know what I’ll do next year, but I know for a fact that God will guide me”, look at me now an Award with my name on it wow!.” Shared Sicelo on social media after receiving his award.
Gomora’s storyline is centred around two families, the Molefes and the Dlamini's. It showcases the hardships and situations people in the township of Alexandra have to navigate.
