Lasizwe Questioned About The R2 Million Raised For Students

Tweeps have been demanding answers from YouTuber and reality TV star Lasizwe Dambuza since yesterday on Twitter, questioning him about the R2 Million he made from the #R10GoesALongWay campaign.
In March this year, Lasizwe together with Sibu Mabena, Takkies Dinwiddy, and King Aya started a fundraising initiative called #R10GoesALongWay hoping to help university students with registration fees.

Within five days, the funds raised were over R1 million. Other companies including KFC also extended a helping hand. KFC donated R50 000, Chivas Regal gave a total of R25 000, Clyrofor SA donated R39 000, and Pick n Pay donated R10 000.

African Bank pledged R10 000 and 10 laptops and other Mzansi's popular celebs also joined the cause. Jessica Nkosi donated R10 000 and Sarah Langa contributed R20 000.

"WE DID IT JOE! We raised R1 000 000.00 for students to get registered in Universities in 5 days!!! We literally did it! Thank you to every single one of you who contributed R10 to this initiative. WE REALLY DID THAT!!" tweeted Lasizwe thanking everyone for their contributions, he tweeted.
Later, Lasizwe also announced that the Standard Bank had also donated R1m towards the #R10GoesALongWay campaign.

“The total is R2 000 000.00! Oh my goshsssss!!!! South Africa, we raised 2 million rands for students. I don’t know how to react!!! 2 million!!! What!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you What!"
Tweeps have recently started questioning Lasizwe, they say they want to know if the money went where it was supposed to: "Because we participated in the initiative, we are now asking for feedback of how our money has helped students, what changed has it brought in to people's life. These questions are directed to Lasizwe on the same platform he used to ask for our money. #Lasizwe"

Meanwhile, those who benefited from the fundraising have come forward.
@Palesa_Browniey said she is grateful that she also benefited.
"We're here. I'm one of those students who benefitted," she tweeted.

Tidimalo wrote: "We're here I'm one of those students who benefitted @lasizwe I'm grateful, thank you #Lasizwe

Another Twitter user also explained: "Guys there is no need for fetching #Lasizwe, 17000 students applied for this Registration fee assistance campaign, NB: This was not a bursary but only Registration fee Assistance campaign, 166 students qualified to get their higher learning institution registration fee covered."
