It's hard to see the good in a bad situation, like cancer for example

But as they say, every cloud has a silver lining!

And that's the attitude actress Lillian Dube has adopted after battling breast cancer.

Known for her memorable role as Sister Bettina in TV series Soul City, Lillian underwent surgery and chemotherapy after she was diagnosed in 2008

Speaking at a recent Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC), Lillian said she was even "grateful" for the potentially life-threatening disease.

She said; "I am grateful for my cancer. The first time (I was diagnosed) I really thought I was going to die. I thought that I was going to die and I was sad. I remember standing on my balcony like I always do and the breeze felt heavenly. I thought, ‘I am going to miss this.’ I was going to miss my grandchildren and the car guards at Cresta Mall who told me I wouldn’t die because they were praying for me.”

But Lillian realised her health woes was a platform for her to inspire and motivate others

She added; “There were so many people who were praying for me that I ended up praying for myself. I said, ‘God. You cannot disappoint all these people that are praying for me. I am adding my voice’.

Lillina believes it's her strength that pulled her through.

She concluded; “You must never ask God why he picked you to go through cancer...God sends his best soldiers out to war.”

If Lillian can get beat cancer, than are our petty issues are really meaningless!
