If you're still wondering why Nike was trending this week, here's the brief lowdown. The sportswear brand recently chose Colin Kaepernick (American Football star) as one of the faces for advertisements commemorating the 30th anniversary of its 'Just Do It' slogan.

Nike's decision to choose Colin did not sit well with some Americans, why you may ask? Well, because the NFL player was known to kneel during the national anthem as a protest against racism in the country and for some American citizens that is viewed as a sign of disrespect towards the country and national anthem.

Like most international news, word about the campaign made it's way onto our shores as well and let's just say South Africans had a field day with making memes of our local entertainers with regards to this Nike campaign.

Here are just some of the most hilarious Nike memes we've seen thus far:

Mampintsha had to feature with his constant request for prayer:

Cassper's current "Fill Up" saga also made it onto the meme campaign.

Fill up

Eish, but Zodwa knows how to give people what they want.

Emtee will never be able to get away from that bathroom mishap that happened last year.

You've got to appreciate how Lasizwe tends to not take himself too seriously, however that story about his "house" and Khanyi Mbau being upset with him will forever go down as one of the best entertainment stories of the year.

AKA's white underwear situation also made it onto the Nike meme list, although thise meme was a bit below the belt.
