Siphesihle Vazi is currently having the time of his life in Zanzibar. The Selimathunzi presenter recently took to his social media pages to share snaps from his holiday.

Although the TV personality seems to be having a great time, his trip is raising eyebrows. A couple of months ago, Tanzania introduced new anti-gay laws making it a criminal offence to practice homosexuality. The government put together a task force to arrest suspected LGBT people in the city, and urged the public to report suspected gay men and women to the police. After an international uproar, many people vowed to not set foot there until the laws are amended. So, it is surprising to see some of our local stars visit the country.

South African singer, Nakhane, shared his opinion on what's happening in that country.

"Most of the time I am filled with so much rage at how hateful this world can be that I don’t even have the words to express it. Because it’s not only rage; it also hurts. I will never understand the wilful, unmotivated hate hate for the other that exists in the world. What’s happening in Tanzania makes me want to vomit," he wrote on Instagram.

But it looks like Tanzania still remains a top holiday destination for celebrities. Khuli Chana and television presenter, DJ Lamiez Holworthy were recently on a trip in Zanzibar which sparked romance rumours. When asked about her relationship with Khuli on Instagram, Lamiez maintained that according to Home Affairs, she is still "single". Well, that doesn't say much, right?

Is it okay to force celebs to take a stand on political issues, or should we not expect anything from them? Keep the conversation going in our comments section.
