Limpopo musician Vhudi Mamphwe is living his dreams since his audition on Idols South Africa, where he performed his original song My Yoki Yoki.

Vhudi's performance left the judges, Somizi Mhlongo, Unathi Nkayi, Randall Abrahams and Buhle Mda in awe and had them singing along to the catchy Vhenda vocals. After his performance Vhudi trended on social media with many singing his praises for his unique performance, he even got a shoutout from Nigerian superstar Davido requesting him to DM him. 

Vhudi's audition created quite the buzz around the young man, with some people already calling My Yoki Yoki song of the summer. 

Whilst he may have been very nervous when he was auditioning but he told Sowetan that he wanted to audition because he wanted to expose his talent. 

The overwhelming support from the public is now allowing Vhudi to live his wildest dreams such as him getting into the studio and recording the song. 

Vhudi shared on Twitter that he is finally in-studio literally living his dream, as he shared a picture of himself behind a mic.
Speaking to Sowetan, the 20-year-old explained the meaning of the now-famous song. 

“I was trying to impress someone when I wrote the song,” he told the publication. 

“I didn’t get the girl, but she was very excited about the song. Yes, My Yoki Yoki is shortened from 'My Yonkinto’. It just came up as I was writing the song.” 

Vhudi had a "beautiful day recording" his upcoming single and has so much support behind him as he advances in his career. 

“What a beautiful day recording my upcoming single #MyYokiYoki. This was my first time in studio. Thank you, Jesus & everyone, who's working on this with me,” he shared on Twitter.
