Mental health problems such as depression and anxiety are closely related, however they vary in their impact and influence on a person.

Depression is mostly regarded as an internal and consistent state of feeling below par, whereas anxiety on the hand is mostly regarded as a regular state of fear, restlessness and worry.

Actress, Nandi Mbatha recently opened up about her long-time struggle with anxiety. It was in the year 2009 when the 22-year-old got diagnosed with this mental disorder.

According to entertainment site, Celeb Gossip, Nandi's coping mechanism includes taking pills called Rescue Remedy for about three times a week.

Many got to marvel at Nandi's artistry when she made her acting debut as Simlindile 'Simi' Ngema on the soon-to-be-cancelled drama series, Isithembiso. The level of fame that she is exposed to has been an experience that she still grapples with.

Other triggers include big crowds; which propel her to mentally prepare herself before going out to the shops.

At one point, Nandi suffered a sudden uncontrollable fear while filming a scene on the rooftop. However, her colleagues have proven to be very understanding of her condition.

"I don’t go to the shops without preparing myself mentally,” she said.

A few months ago, ZAlebs reported on Nandi Mbatha and Tellaman's sizzling and low-key romance. The two lovebirds have been dating for a while and have regularly shouted out each other on social media.

The Kwa-Zulu Natal born actress revealed that her boyfriend's calmness has a positive impact on her as she goes about grappling with her anxiety disorder.
