TV presenter and radio host Pearl Modiadie is shocked and in disbelief after news of her aunt's passing, just two weeks after her husband passed, and a week after he was laid to rest. According to the personality, she died of a broken heart as she could not live without her husband.
"My aunt lost her husband 2 weeks ago & a week after his burial, she also passed away. Her heart was broken and the reality of him no longer being here was too much for her to come to terms with. Itβs a difficult time for everyone at the moment, in one way or another. Be kind," she wrote on Twitter.
It is indeed a very sad period and our hearts go out to all those that are mourning. Yesterday we learnt about the news of one of South Africa's most treasured actresses Lindiwe Ndlovus' passing.
According to TimesLive, her manager said: βIts been a very difficult day. She passed this morning. She had medical issues, high blood pressure and so on. She apparently had trouble breathing and passed away in her sleep. I do not know if her death was related to COVID-19.β
Zodwa Wabantu also lost her aunt and she confirmed that she succumbed to COVID-19. Her death really opened her eyes to the fact that the virus is real. She also had herself tested for it. "My Aunt has Passed Away. Today you are happy, tomorrow you are Sad. Alive today and tomorrow you are dead. COVID-19 is real!"
Uzalo actor Cebolenkosi Mthembu revealed that the virus took his father and also revealed that he too contracted it, "Covid-19 has brought me a double heartache. While fighting it, I'm also hurting that I couldn't bid farewell to my father or even arrange his funeral arrangement as his firstborn. I didn't have a choice but to protect everyone. This is the time to be safe and protect each other. It hurts that our parents are leaving because of this pandemic."
