It’s quite sad when people see a woman flourishing financially but they have no actual idea what she does and they immediately assume that she got to where she is using her sexual prowess.
Why?
Because the idea is rooted in misconceptions based on conditions created by a patriarchal society. Misconceptions that women suffer for. But, it is even sadder that it is often the reality in most young women’s lives.
And this is the exact point Thusi made last night on Twitter, alluding to the fact that there are many young women who sell the dream of the traditional hustle and how it pays off when in actual fact, their hustle isn’t so traditional (albeit “the oldest profession in the book).
She then shared her disdain at the idea of having sex with older men for things as Nandi Madida, Enhle Mlotshwa and LTDW Somizi producer, Olwethu Mlotshwa (aka Olwee) chimed in.
It wasn’t long before the shade started coming in via fan responses mentioning G63’s (driven by one very popular local starlet) as well as “bereka mosadi” (a phrase favored by the aforementioned starlet).
If there was any doubt about whom she may be including in the “many women” that fall under this category… She dropped this final gem.
To borrow from Riley Freeman:
Shade recognize shade and you’re looking kinda familiar Pearl!
I guess woke Twitter is about to add her to that growing “problematic faves” list they have going.
