Finding love online is not uncommon these days. It's so common in fact that even some of your favourite celebrities can be found on these platforms.
One of the most popular platforms is an app called Tinder which, despite it's reputation as a hook-up app, is actually quite effective in getting you what you want (whether you want to hook-up temporarily or find a long-lasting fling).
Where the app differs from most platforms is the fact that when you are looking for that special somebody, you open the app and swipe through an endless stream of selfies that the app surfaces on your screen.
The app algorithm determines which selfies to show you based on who is in your area and what age limit you've set.
Now here's where the fun part comes in: with a quick swipe to the left, you can reject them, or with a swipe to the right, you can match with them.
Once you match with someone (that is, someone who swiped right on your profile because they're also interested in you), the app prompts you to send them a message just in case you two hit it off.
