Multi award winning rapper Rouge took to Twitter announcing her excitement about signing with music giant Sony Music Africa.
“⚠️ANNOUNCEMENT ⚠️ROUGE IS OFFICIALLY SIGNED TO SONY MUSIC. I've been independent for the longest time and now officially with a major! Can't wait to see where this journey takes me with my new family @SonyMusicAfrica”
This is not the first management deal that the young rapper has signed since she first broke into the industry in 2014, however things all came crashing down and she lost everything.
The queen showed us what a real bounce back looks like when she started collaborating with some of the best in the industry like AKA and Moozlie.
This was all before she took things into her own hands by releasing her debut album ‘The New Era Sessions’ in 2017 proving herself as one of South Africa’s best female rappers. Rouge’s 15 track debut album made South African rap history when debuted at number 2 on the local iTunes chart.

Rouge has shown that hard work pays off, the artiste has won one SAFTA award for the video visuals that accompanied her debut album, one South African Music Award, two SAMBRE Africa awards and one South African Hip Hop award all as an independent artist.
Signing on to Sony is a big deal and her fans joined in on the celebrations wishing her the best of luck:
We hope to hear more music from the rapper and if it sounds anything close to as good as her debut album, then sign us up.
