While some of our most-loved Zalebs were born in neighbouring countries such as Botswana and Zimbabwe, you'll be surprised to know that there are also a few famous South African celebrities who were born overseas.

Major League DJz
The duo, who are twins, were originally born in the United States, Boston in 1991. Their father was a musician over there. They relocated to South Africa post-apartheid.

Da L.E.S
Da L.E.S, real name Leslie Jonathan Mampe Jr, was born in America, Washington D.C on July 26, 1985, to South African parents. His father was a collector of music and used to host parties. It was through this that Da L.E.S discovered his love for music as a young boy.

Tshego
Tshego, real name Tshegofatso Ketshabile, is a South African musician born in Atlant Georgia, United States. He was born there while his parents were studying that side. He visited South Africa on a regular basis and eventually settled here.

Lalla Hirayama
Television personality Lalla Hirayama was born in Hiratsuka, Japan to a Japanese mother and a white South African father of Jewish descent. She attended primary and high schooling in Sandton and began her television career in her teen years.
