The only way for her to reach the top is through Mzansi. The competition will see hundreds of models from different countries vying for the same crown and Shudu needs our votes to bring it home.

In a video she shared on her social media accounts, she pleaded with South Africans to vote for her in order to win scoop the prestigious crown.

“South Africa, stand up. South Africa, it’s time for us to vote and go get them. I just wanted to say thank you so much for the support that I’ve been receiving on socials throughout my reign and throughout this new journey at Miss World," she said.

“But it is time for us to vote. It is time for us to stand up and do best. So, I need you guys to vote, please.”

“Please download MobStar and when you get there, look for Shudu Musida and then like all my pictures because one like equals one vote. Second of all, I need you to like the Miss World South Africa page.

Shudu recently reflected on her journey as Miss South Africa 2020. She said her favourite part was building relationship with people from different walks of life.

“My favourite moment of the Miss South Africa journey had to be the relationships I made. I think we underestimate the beauty of how we are relational beings, so the final stage was my favourite because I gained sisters, best friends and had the time of my life. The love between us and the Miss SA family is beautiful and to build us as well.

Another model who recently left Mzansi beaming with excitement is the reigning Miss South Africa 2021 Lalela Mswane. She jetted to off to Israel amid mounting pressure from the public calling on her to boycott the pageant.

She released a statement confirming that she will be participating on the pageant despite the criticism.

"It is with so much gratitude that I prepare to represent my beautiful South Africa at the 70th Miss Universe competition," she said.

"Being Miss South Africa is not only an honour but also a huge responsibility and I am determined to serve our country proudly in the best way that I can. Beyond being granted a national platform during my reign to have a wider reach when tackling the economic and social issues which I have committed myself to, the title also comes with the opportunity to represent our country on an international platform along with women from all walks of life, all coming together to affect positive change in the causes they are passionate about and advocate for." she continued.

"I stand today as an empowered woman because of so many before me who fought for our voices to be heard. I feel my duty is to do the same for the women of the past, the women of today and the women to come."
