“Have yourself a merry little Christmas,” featuring Somizi is part of Judith Sephuma’s latest offering, “An African Christmas.” The iconic jazz singer, turned gospel vocalist is aiming to own Christmas by being one of the very few South African artists to release a completely Christmas themed album.  It seems that Judith is eying that queen of reinvention titled, because the good sis might came out and surprise all with an amapiano album next year.
Despite being dragged for filth when it was first announced that Somizi was  set to be part of the album, it takes listening to the song to think hear he did not do that much. One thing about Mr Mhlongo-Motaung is that the man can hold a vibrato note like nobody’s business. And Judith and her producer did not ask him to do more than that on the song. Now we are not “Idols SA” judges, but  channeling our in Somizi we would say that he could have given more- just saying.

But it seems that Judith and Somizi are putting out all the stops to make sure that the song gets that attention that Judith paid for. In a latest post by Somizi, he revealed that the two of them were shooting a music video for the single. And the video Som-Gaga shared of the behind-the-scenes action, revealed a couple of interesting details that should be discussed before the watching the video in order to get the full effect.

First, is the moemish moment when Ma’Judith was caught posing for the video. It has become a norm for most of our season personalities to always face the confusion of , is it a video or is it an image? And Judith is the latest one to fall in the trap.  Secondly, Somizi was clearly running that set. Between the hair flicks, the loud talking while the crew was getting ready to for the next sequence makes it abundantly clear that Som-G is the one and only, Divo.
But it seems that Somizi might continue venturing into exploring his voice a lot more. In another post, the personality posted an image of him and boyfr- best friend, Vusi Nova in studio. It seemed like the image was taken midst the two braking out into song. We can only guess what that means, but it is always good to see the chemistry between the two is still very much alive.
