It is matric ball season for thousands of South Afica’s grade 12 pupils, and Somizi is doing his bit to help those in need.

The Idols SA judge has revealed that he will be giving away 30 suits to underprivileged boys.

Wow.

As if that wasn’t enough, Somizi

revealed that all the suits will be garments that he wore to previous red carpet events – which means many are likely to be designer wear, because Somizi does not play when it comes to fashion.

The good deed is part of Somizi’s Mandela Day contributions.

It’s not the first time Somizi has helped pupils whose parents have little or no money for the big dance.

“Mandela day is around the corner. Last year I started a raise a matric dance dress campaign. My aim was to raise 67 dresses. [I] ended up getting 300 dresses for girls around the country. This year [I would] like to grow the campaign by also raising 67 suits for matric boys. I’ll start with myself. I’m giving away 30 of my suits I’ve worn on previous events. I’ll give to boys, size 28 to 32,” he said on his social media accounts.

We salute you, Somizi!
