Idols SA judges Somizi and Unathi have been dropping hints that they are back on the set on of the popular singing competition.
Somizi last week posted pictures of himself back at work and even opened up an opportunity for upcoming designers to dress him for season 16.

Somizi in a video posted on social media said, “It’s lockdown and I’ve been struggling with outfits for my shoots. I realised that we are coming closer to the live performances of Idols season 16 and I was like, what am I going to do differently this time in terms of my outfits.”
The national lockdown, unfortunately, bought many productions to a halt but with regulations eased many television shows are back to business.
Production company (SIC Entertainment) is making sure that now they are back on set they are adhering to all the government lockdown guidelines and recordings.
"Idols SA Season 16 is currently in the production phase. The shooting of mass and on-line auditions was completed before the government implemented lockdown on 26 March 2020," said Nomsa Philiso: director, Local Entertainment Channels.
The show's start date will be announced closer to the start date.
