The importance of the show can never be overlooked. The “Lockdown House Party,” provided many performers and DJs with exposure, considering the free performance matter and visibility during a time when live performances and DJ sets were not possible for many performers. It also provided some of the up and coming DJs with greater opportunities in the industry, and it cemented some rising stars with quicker come-up stories; think Lamiez Holworthy.

DJ Zinhle served us with the hottest tracks created by SA’s best female musicians when she hosted her own show on MTV Base from Saturday, 11 July 2020. PJ Party With DJ Zinhle was shot entirely from her home and saw the award-winning musician being joined by fellow female DJs for some Saturday night entertainment.

DJ Oskido worked in partnership with Care Corona to raise funds for victims of COVID19. The stream was broadcast via Facebook and YouTube, where he was joined by deep house legend, Vinny Da Vinci, amongst many others, much to the excitement of deep house music lovers.

Radio and television collided during 2020 when some of South Africa’s most notable DJs took to the decks for a live set on SABC 1. The show saw live comments streaming in as DJs such as Lerato Kganyago, Dineo Ranaka and many more showed off their skills.
