Author and entrepreneur Khaya Dlanga today shared that there was a break-in at his house and his electronic gadgets and other things were stolen.
Opening up on Instagram, Khaya said he was on a 4 hour yacht joy ride when he got a text from the body corporate informing him about the break-in.
He said they stole his TV, PS5, laptop, extra phones, and many more.
"Then in the bedroom a bunch of small things and every cologne they could see. The only colognes not stolen were Dior because I had forgotten them in the kitchen (as seen on the last slide). I left them there because I wanted to shoot them as content,
"Someone said they must have left them on the counter because they thought it was some fancy cooking oil 😂🤣😂🤣At least they were polite and considerate enough to leave my HDMI cables. What nice thieves," he said.
Khaya said he was with his friends Trevor Noah, Anele Mdoda, and others (as seen in the pictures) when the break-in happened.
"Well, I certainly wasn’t well after that but I didn’t tell my friends (I did whisper it to Xolisa and told him not to tell anyone) because it would have been all everyone would be talking about."
This is yet another sad day that Khaya has shared on his Instagram. He previously narrated a story of when he had "a day straight from the armpits of Satan himself," he said.
Khaya said on that day he had just got home in Cape Town from Durban when he realised that he had lost his house keys. He said even after thoroughly searching his suitcase and pockets he still couldn't find the keys.
"At some point, I convinced myself that I must have left them in my car in the garage. Not possible because I wouldn’t have been able to close the garage door if they were still inside. The rain was making me increasingly wet. Maybe the office? So I called another Uber. My office was no more than a 3-minute drive from my place in Cape Town.
"They were not there either. I had convinced myself at this stage that I had left them in the JHB office. I was dismayed. I took my bags to the hotel across the road and felt sorry for myself and curled into a fetal position on the chairs at the reception. Just as I was considering booking a room, I had an idea. To call my helper because she has the spare key."
He said they agreed that he sent an Uber to his helper's place to get the keys and drop them off at the hotel, "I got the keys. Got home. Dropped my bags. But now I was starving. I hadn’t eaten all day. I wanted to go buy isibindi (liver) I went outside and opened the garage door. No car. I panicked for 0.05 seconds before I remembered that I’d left my car in the parking lot of the hotel opposite the office. THE VERY SAME HOTEL I HAD BEEN WAITING FOR MY HOUSE KEYS FOR HOURS!
"But wait, there’s more. I also remembered that my house keys were in the car all along. I went through self-imposed mgowo on that Sunday. And Satan had nothing to do with it."
